At the moment Norway provides two different stories about green energy:
1. Norway is as clean as it can be with a 98% renewable energy production.
2. 60 % of Norways total energy cosumption comes from renewable energy.
Both stories are correct, but the second is more accurate as it also includes energy usage from the transport and industry sectors.
The major problem however is that the renewable share in both stories have remained unchanged over the last 30 years. With an increase both in energy usage the resultat has been increased emissions even though both «Green washing» stories are still valid.
As many countries in the EU and other parts of the world rapidly changes their energy systems it is time for Norway to step up to keep their leading position.
